Nursery life

Settling in

We know that it can be an emotional time for children, parents and carers when it comes to settling in to a new environment and routine, and we are here to give you the support you need to make it as easy as possible.

Before you start, you will be required to complete the relevant child registration and funding document and you will be able to talk to the staff at Jimbo’s about your child’s likes, dislikes and routines. You can even request a home visit – one of the team would be delighted to pop by and get to know the family.

You and your child will attend a minimum of three settling in sessions, allowing you both to become happy and comfortable with the staff and nursery. During this time, we will encourage your child to bond with staff, particularly their key person, as this will help them to feel safe and secure in your absence. Some children may require more than three sessions and that is fine, we can tailor the process to suit you.

Once your child is settled, you are always welcome to talk to their key person, or any one of our team, should you have any questions, concerns or compliments.
